Where it all began...
In the late 80s, Christy Hyland was working as a plasterer in The Netherlands where he noticed the widespread use of quartz carpets in homes. Fascinated by their durability and aesthetic value, Christy and his wife Patricia felt that this type of flooring had potential in the Irish market.
They both set about learning all they could about the resin flooring industry and in 1990 Natural Stone Carpets was born. The company’s first product launched at the Plan Expo 1990 and, needless to say, it was a huge success winning Best Interior Product for two years running.
In the decades since, Natural Stone Carpets has established itself as Ireland’s premier provider of custom-made seamless flooring and wall finishes for both the home and the workplace.
A Second‑Generation Family Business
For over 35 years, Natural Stone Carpets has been built on family values and a passion for craftsmanship. What started with founder Christy Hyland’s pioneering resin‑blend experiments in 1990 has now been carried forward by his children, who grew up learning the trade side by side. Today, our second‑generation team blends time‑tested techniques with fresh, modern designs—ensuring every project benefits from both the wisdom of experience and the innovation of a new era. We take pride in preserving our family legacy while continually raising the bar for quality, service, and community trust.
